Finding Inspiration

Inspiration comes from the strangest places. When I was in Philly, I saw this gate and groundskeeper's building in Rittenhouse Square. My brain went something like this:

Thought 1 : Wow! How cool is that?
Thought 2 : It's really gorgeous.
Thought 3 : Hmm, I bet it could be creepy at night.
Thought 4 : I wonder what kind of situation would make someone have to break in and hide in there...

Yeah, I never claimed my brain wasn't a scary place. That's what has been on my mind lately, what's on yours?

ALSO -- you want to see something else mind-bendingly inspiring? Go see Natalie Whipple's cover reveal for her upcoming debut Transparent!

  1. I think I love that your brain is a scary place. Mine is not at all. But I'm totally dying to read your scary books.

  2. Puttin' on a show. I was just in a performance that consisted of old classic Broadway and jazz numbers and my time spent in the wings and dancing on stage made me TOTALLY want to a throwback to times of old. Oh and by the way, I'm inspired by old creepy doors like that one ALL THE TIME! This is a particularly good one, I must say.

  4. Oh gosh. I never knew what a scary place my brain was until I wrote, because then all the stuff ended up on paper and I couldn't forget about it :)
